Well, we are back on track for MacHeist 4, and the teasers are already vexing MH heads around the globe! On Friday, October 30th the main page was changed to an iris and signs indicating radiation levels were being monitored. The MacHeist Early Detection System told us to check back the next day. On the 31st the system went live, the iris opened, and we had control over the direction of that window into space. At the correct coordinates the radiation levels went nuts and a countdown began. The countdown ends on Thursday, November 5th at 7pm EST. For tweeting out a message about the MHEDN you can pick up DaisyDisk Disk Visualization Software. DaisyDisk makes what are probably the most beautiful disk visuals I have ever seen. Check it out, and check back here for more MacHeist news and discussion! Podcasts will start soon!
Update: From davedelong in the forums.
Explanation: The yellow lights flash with these counts:
2628 2855
Digits only go from 0-9. However, you can’t just not flash in order to represent a 0, so the numbers are all off by 1. In other words:
1 flash = 0
2 flashes = 1
3 flashes = 2
etc
Therefore, you get this:
1517 1744
The coordinate system only accepts input with one decimal point, with each coordinate being less than 200. The logical division of the numbers is therefor: 151.7, 174.4.
Enter those coordinates and claim DaisyDisk as a prize.
